Battle of the Arts (BOTA), began in 2010 in Fredericton, NB with 25 participants from diverse backgrounds between 12 and 25 years old. Our goal was, and continues to be, to encourage young people to be a part of something that would allow them to express themselves artistically while raising awareness about human rights. In 2011, BOTA spread to other localities, holding events in Saint John, Moncton, Woodstock and Bathurst, which more than doubled the participants competing for a spot in our finale at the Fredericton Playhouse. In 2011, our winners took home a cash prize of $1000 to be utilized in a way promoting peace, unity, multiculturalism and artistry.
